Another Kid Rescue!

I got a call this morning from Caitlyn.  She ended up stranded on the curvy, hilly road on the way to work at Silver Dollar City.  Apparently, the truck started slowing down to the point of just stopping.  Someone stopped to help her push her truck to the side of the road and then they gave her a ride to work.  Today wasn't a good day for this to happen.  Troy is back on days so he won't get off work until 6pm.  Caitlyn gets off work at around 6pm also and won't have a way back to her room.  Dad said he would go with me not knowing what we were going to have to do when we got there.  From discussions with Zack and Dad, I had decided she just needed more gas in the truck.  Dad thought there may be a fuel pump or filter problem.  Regardless, we were just hoping it was a quick fix and the truck would be up and going before dark.

We made it to the employee parking lot at the exact time Caitlyn came in on the employee shuttle...perfect timing.  We found her truck...thank goodness it hadn't started rolling.  I would have either gone over the cliff at the bottom of the hill, or followed the guard rail around the corner to who knows where.  Here's Caitlyn...she would kill me to know I posted this picture, but I couldn't resist.  Isn't she cute in her Silver Dollar City "uniform"?  I was surprised to see that her hair matched her dress and asked if she changed it to match each dress she had...you just never know with teenagers.

Once we got her truck to the gas station, dad filled it and the darn truck started right up.  She thinks someone is stealing her gas, so before we left I got her a locked gas cap.  Pretty sad...a 2 hour drive to rescue my middle baby because she ran out of gas...lol.  At least when I run out of gas I'm a lot closer to home for someone to come rescue! (And, yes, unfortunately, I run out of gas more that I would want to admit).  All in all, not a bad trip...just a long one.
